Customs rules in Switzerland
Valid for people with main domicile in Switzerland. Please notice that this here is only a rough list of the rules. If you want to have more details please consult the tourist office in Samnaun or at the customs ask for Martina, Tel.+41(0)818616041!
The most important customs’rules for Switzerland:
Tobacco (only for people aged 17 or more)
200 cigarettes or 50 cigarillos or 250 g smoking tobacco (or a mixture of different kind of tobacco)
Alcoholic drinks (only for people aged 17 or more) until 15% 2 liters more than 15% 1 Liter. Other goods for private use or as presents must not be worth more than CHF 300 in total.
If the total value of the purchased goods is more than CHF 300-(incl. meat and meat-goods) you will have to pay taxes for all goods.
You are not allowed to accumulate the above mentioned amount for several people Except for alcoholic drinks and tobacco, which are tax-free only in the indicated amounts. No taxes will be paid daily for goods which are willingly presented to the customs (except for the travel goods).
